Guilty Pleasures

We all have guilty pleasures - things we enjoy doing, but feel guilty about. Some of these we feel guilty about because they are wrong; others betray the image we portray; still others are simply purposeless or eccentric. Here are some of mine - I feel proud of some, confused by others, deeply ashamed of others. It is for you, dear reader, to decide which is which....

  • seeing a BMW broken down and on the hard shoulder. Especially if it is black
  • sanding my feet with a foot file
  • getting to the till at Tesco just before someone else
  • a cup of hot chocolate in the evening
  • the embarrassment of someone who gets your name wrong
  • Desperate Housewives (I know....)
  • laughing cow cheese triangles
  • using a family changing cubicle at the swimming baths
  • Classic FM
  • a cheeseburger
  • singing along to Abba CD's at full blast in the car
  • pot noodle original curry flavour
  • correcting people on their spelling and grammar
  • seeing people's prejudices fall away much to their discomfort, especially with traditionalists versus charismatics.
  • seeing conservative politicians getting a drubbing in elections
  • seeing white vans parked outside posh people's houses

I am sure there are more! What are yours?

I actually enjoyed a fantastic sing along to Abba a couple of weeks ago. Oh the joy. And no one was with me to make me feel ashamed.

Well, I will admit to enjoying this in the car from time to time. But I was too ashamed to mention that one!
